​Founded in 2025, Pioneer Plant Health Care was born from a deep-rooted respect for the landscapes that define our community. Our founder, Colton Hoffman, is a Villa Park native who grew up under the canopy of the Illinois urban forest. His journey from a local kid with a bit of a green thumb to a dedicated plant health specialist is the foundation of everything we do.

​Colton’s career began in the aisles of local garden centers, where he developed an early passion for the intricacies of plant biology and landscape health. To complement his horticultural interests, he spent years at the local hardware store, mastering the art of high-touch customer service and technical problem-solving.
​A chance meeting with a veteran tree service owner transformed Colton’s passion into a professional calling. By merging years of hands-on experience in arboriculture with his foundational knowledge of plant care, and after 12 years in the industry, he established Pioneer Plant Health Care to provide a more thoughtful, science-based approach to tree and shrub maintenance.
